IMPORTANT DEADLINES  Mid-November 

  • Tax bills for current year are sent
December 20, 2023

  • First half payment due for 2023 tax year
 
June 20, 2024

  • Second half payment due for 2023 tax year
If any of the due dates fall on a weekend or holiday, taxes are due by the end of the next business day.
HOW AND WHERE TO PAY YOUR TAXES

  • Pay in person: 9 am to 5 pm, Monday - Friday, excluding Federal Holidays

  •  Pay by mail: Send to address above. Please include your payment stub to help us process your tax payment efficiently. Note: If mailing close to the payment date we strongly suggest that you go to the counter at your local Post Office and ask that the envelope be postmarked that day.  
  •  Pay over the phone: 208-776-8250 
Fees apply for phone and web payments:
  • E-check fees: $2.00 per transaction
  • VISA Debit Card fees: $3.95 per transaction
  • Credit Card or Master Card Debit Card fees: 2.5% of the amount paid. ($2.00 minimum charge).
Payments for multiple parcels may be paid in one transaction.
 
PROPERTY OWNER AND TAXPAYER RESPONSIBILITES 
Be aware of important deadlines:
 
  • Mid-November - Current year tax bills mailed
  • December 20th - FIRST HALF TAX PAYMENT DUE
  • April 15th - Application deadline for Hardship Tax Relief or Circuit Breaker Program
  • April 15th - Application deadline for Homeowner's Exemption
  • June 20th - SECOND HALF TAX PAYMENT DUE
  • Last Monday in June - Last day to appeal current year's property values.
Taxpayer is responsible to ensure taxes are paid:
 
  • FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL DOES NOT EXCUSE THE PROPERTY OWNER FROM BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TAXES ON THEIR PROPERTY, INCLUDING ASSESSED LATE FEES, INTEREST AND OTHER COSTS.  (Idaho code 63-902(9)
Taxpayer is responsible for record keeping:
 
  • Proof of payment is the responsibility of the taxpayer (Idaho Code 63-1306(2). The taxpayer is responsible for keeping accurate records of tax payments.
Taxpayers are encouraged to pay their taxes early:  

  • To avoid late fees and interest, pay before the deadlines. Pre-payment and payment plans are welcome.
When mailing your tax payment:

  • Include your payment stub from your tax bill, to help us process your payment efficiently.
  • Be sure the envelope is USPO postmarked before or on the due date. A post office cancellation is considered the filing date. A postage meter is not an acceptable post office cancellation mark. (Idaho Code 63-217). 
Notify the Assessor’s Office whenever your mailing address changes.
