When death occurs, family and loved ones find it difficult to make emotional decisions in a timely manner. In addition to making sure the cause of death is normal and/or expected, the Coroner can aid the family in contacting the mortuary, obtaining proper documentation needed by insurance companies, employers and the government. (The State issues the death certificate, not the Coroner.) A Coroner must be dedicated to helping those who are unable to help themselves during a stressful time.
